This unique weekend will give you an in-depth exploration of the art of Jin Shin Jyutsu: first by applying this harmonizing art to yourself, then working with horses and your canine companion. Through this comprehensive course, during which we will share the work with three species, you’ll experience the harmonizing of the Universal Life Force that flows through all Be-ings. This fun-filled experience will deepen self-understanding and clarify the simplicity and nurturing effects of this art. No prior knowledge of Jin Shin Jyutsu, horses, or dogs is required.
The class will be held on a private horse farm near natural prairie grasslands and the beautiful Franklin Creek State Nature Park. There are several hotels in nearby Dixon or if you prefer, you can camp out on the property. Human and canine parts of the class will be held in the gorgeously rehabbed farm house or perhaps outside under the expansive old trees near the meditation garden if weather permits.
Join us for a wonderful weekend and experience the art of harmonizing the life energy

Bringing Balance to the Body’s Energy
A two-day workshop designed to introduce you to Jin Shin Jyutsu and animal work, ultimately giving you the knowledge to use this gentle Art of harmonizing on a diverse number of species. Our work will focus on the principles of Self-Help. You will learn to work on yourselves as well as dogs and horses. Body reading and intuitive communication will deepen your connections and understanding.
To address the specific needs of your animal, Adele shows you how to treat disharmonies and health conditions including:
- lessening healing time after injury or surgery
- digestive and elimination concerns
- skeletal and muscular issues
- circulatory problems
- arthritis, rheumatism and other age related imbalances
In addition to these and many other physical ailments, Jin Shin Jyutsu can effectively assist in attitudinal disharmonies such as:
-stubbornness, aggression or aggressive behavior
-fear issues
-grief
Jin Shin Jyutsu
An art more than 2000 years old, Jin Shin Jyutsu was dramatically revived in the early 1900’s by Japanese Master, Jiro Murai. One of his original students, Mary Burmeister, introduced it to the United States in the 1960’s, where it has quietly become recognized as an alternative means to aid in healing in conjunction with traditional “western” medical care.
Jin Shin Jyutsu brings balance to the body’s energy, allowing it to function better and heal more quickly. The application of one's hands utilizes and harmonizes 26 “safety energy locks” (places where energy becomes backed up in the body). “Holding” these locks in specific combinations can reinstate balance and harmony to one's body.
The effects are cumulative and frequent application of these techniques will greatly facilitate the reduction of stress, tension and toxins which accumulate through normal daily living.
Adele Leas
“Lots of love; lots of learning; lots of fur!”
That's how Adele remembers her childhood years in upstate New York. Growing up, she dreamed of becoming an actor and a veterinarian. While her love of animals never waned, theater became her career of choice. She spent more than a decade touring the US and Europe as an actor and playwright. The “gift” of poor health led her to Jin Shin Jyutsu in 1990.
Self-help Jin Shin Jyutsu became a vital tool in her ongoing recovery while on the road. It was only natural to extend the healing of Jin Shin Jyutsu to her beloved traveling companion, Amiti, a sickly, aging Collie. The resulting increase in quality (and perhaps quantity) of life, was profound.
Like so many whose lives have been transformed through this beautiful art, Adele found herself studying and sharing Jin Shin Jyutsu with others. Upon settling in New Orleans, she established a full time practice sharing Jin Shin Jyutsu and self-help with her human clients. It was through her volunteer work with a number of animal rescue organizations and her own emergency work with abandoned and abused pets that she saw the paths of Jin Shin Jyutsu and her childhood dreams merging.
As a practitioner and self-help instructor of Jin Shin Jyutsu, Adele now focuses on all beings, human or otherwise. She has taught classes from England to Germany to Brazil, as well as countless US classes. She is thrilled to be sharing this art with you in this idyllic setting.
